Preuss | Foster Law successfully secured $1,000,000 in settlement funds for a teenager who was injured in a collision with a cement truck in Kansas City, Kansas. The plaintiff, who was a passenger in the back seat, suffered severe injuries due to the accident. His injuries included multiple rib fractures, a broken arm, a fractured pelvis, a lacerated spleen, a lacerated kidney, a tear in his aorta, a concussion resulting in loss of consciousness, and a traumatic brain injury. Before the accident, he had no physical limitations and was an active teenager who participated in school, sports, and a range of physical activities. This incident has had a profound and devastating effect.
Prior to filing the case in Wyandotte, County, Kansas, the plaintiff was offered $0 by the concrete truck’s insurance carrier because the driver of the plaintiff’s vehicle pulled out in front of the cement truck. After filing the case and obtaining the dash-cameras on the cement truck, Preuss | Foster Law uncovered evidence that cement truck was traveling in excess of the speed limit. Preuss | Foster Law retained an expert witness who opined that if the truck driver was not speeding the impact and injuries to the plaintiff would have been avoided. This evidence helped drive the $1,000,000.00 settlement.
At Preuss | Foster Law we believe in fighting diligently for the rights of our clients and ensuring they receive the justice and compensation they deserve. This settlement is a step towards alleviating some of the burdens caused by the accident and helping our client rebuild his life.
